Objective of Christmas Limerics:
In the game of Christmas Limerics, the players invent clever Christmas Limericks. A limerick is basically a humorous verse form of five anapestic lines with a rhyme scheme of aabba. It is a passive game were one can just sit down at one place and play.
Rules of Christmas Limerics:
Any one can play Christmas Limerics as it is quite fun and also absorbing. The rules of Christmas Limerics are quite simple. Six or more players can take part in this Christmas game and you will require a paper and a pencil. The host starts by putting one of the limerick lines at the top of a piece of paper, for example, When Santa took off in his sleigh or There was an old fellow named Clause or St Nick had a reindeer named Blitzen or Old scrooge he did nothing but frown.
The players each start with paper and pencils and each take 2 minutes to write the next line of the limerick on their page. After that the ages are all passed at the same time to the right and the players again take 2 minutes to complete the next line. The pages are continuously passed this way till the limericks have all 5 lines. The player who writes the last line will have to put their own initial. At the end these pages are gathered and read aloud and the funniest limerick or the one that gets the biggest reaction wins and the prize distributed.
